What’s Worth Considering

Although one side of the Halo’s base does tuck under most beds, the legs on the other side will stick out quite a bit, which can get in the way, especially in a smaller space.

The Maxi-Cosi Iora is another popular option if you’re looking for a fully adjustable bedside bassinet. There’s a lot to love about this bassinet, starting with its good looks. The minimalist design and neutral colors blend with any type of decor. (The Classic Oat color is a Babylist exclusive, so you’ll only find it here.) The other standout feature is the bassinet’s adjustability. It slides both up and down and side to side, so you can find the perfect fit for your bed’s height (and you). It also makes it easy to slide the bassinet close to you in bed for quick, easy access to your little one.

Need to take your bassinet on the go? While certainly not the lightest option, the Iora does fold down flat for travel, a feature you don’t often see in full-size, adjustable bassinets. We also love the ample storage down below and the breathable mesh sides.

What’s Worth Considering

The Iora is on the pricier side. It’s also fairly heavy and has a large footprint. And unlike some bedside bassinets, there’s no drop-down side, so it wouldn’t be the best choice post-C-section.

Note that you don’t need to add a sheet to the mattress, either; in fact, the brand recommends against it. You can simply use it as-is and pop the whole thing in the wash when needed.

The biggest con parents note about this bassinet is that the zip-down side is made from fabric, not mesh. While this is not a safety concern (the bassinet is approved by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission), parents wish the bassinet had four mesh sides instead of just three. And while the bassinet does break down flat for travel, you’ll need tools (and time) to make that happen, so it’s not a great choice if you need something that’s easily portable.

While this bassinet doesn’t automatically respond to baby’s cries like the Snoo does, there are still plenty of smart, tech-forward features both you and your baby will love. Just like the mamaRoo swing, this mesh-side bassinet mimics human motion to help soothe your baby to sleep and help them sleep for longer stretches. There are five unique motions here: car ride, wave, kangaroo, tree swing and rock-a-bye, as well as four built-in white noise options. Everything can be controlled either manually via the touchscreen panel or via an app you can download to your phone. This bundle includes the bassinet (which comes with a firm and flat water-resistant mattress) and an organic cotton sheet.

What’s Worth Considering

There’s no continuous run option for movement here; while you can set a timer via the app, the run time for motion maxes out at four hours. If a cardboard bassinet sounds strange to you, we totally get it. But hear us out, because it’s actually pretty genius. Many parents use a bassinet for the first few months of their baby’s life to keep their little one close. But bassinets can be expensive, and babies outgrow them quickly. Plus, Finnish babies have been using cardboard bassinets for decades—so maybe we have something to learn.
